SpecialThanks is a female-fronted pop-punk band from Aichi Prefecture, Japan. They are currently signed by KOGA/Groovy Drunker Records. The band is made up of Misaki (Vocal & Guitar), Sean (Guitar & Chorus) Nochi (Drums), Hiromu (Bass & Chorus). However, it has been announced that group members Sean and Nochi will withdraw from the band at the end of 2011.
All the members of SpecialThanks have been juggling their band activities while holding down their day jobs. Eventually, Sean and Nochi decided to pull out from the band in order to focus more on their other job. The two members left a comment on the band's official website saying, "Though we have only a month and a bit left for our activities, we will try our best until the end in our own ways."
Starting in 2012, SpecialThanks will continue their activities with a new member structure, while centering Misaki (Vocal & Guitar), Hiromu (Bass & Chorus), Junpei (Drums).
SpecalThanks publishes songs entirely in English. Misaki stated in a interview with Japanfiles.com: "Since I was a kid, all of my favorite Japanese bands (Donut Man, Stompin Bird) were singin in English, so I thought being in a band (singing in English). I thought that was normal."
